#341 of 366 BPC: Cleaning the chimney

This is back at the old house. I cannot live a house that has no fireplace. It is a must when you live in Western New York. Winter is brutal and you need a fireplace to warm you up and feel cozy while you are in your house. Fireplace saves you electric bill during the colder months. My electric bill is lower compared when it is summer. I do not turn on my heater. The fireplace really does its magic.

Owning a fireplace takes a lot of responsibility just like typical household chores. This is back in the summer. I have to clean the chimney after I used it in the winter. Some people will hire professional to clean their chimney. I do it myself to save me money. It is working that way. There are many cases of burning a house down especially that has a fireplace. They forget to clean their chimney before making a fire. Ashes build up inside the chimney which will cause fire.

I want to say thank you very much for joining yesterday’s challenge. You still can join to those who miss the challenge. They are still open for five days.

I’m joining for the first time:)

I’m dreaming spending Christmas eve in front of a fireplace…it looks romantic on movies:) I never thought that along side with it, there’s a responsibility to be taken care of: the chimney! Good for Mommy J, she got a hubby who can take care of it for free:)

    Happy holidays!
